Hello! I'm Shivika.
I am a Computer Science Ph.D. student working with Dr. Praveen Rao, in the Scalable Data Science (SDS) lab, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Missouri-Columbia. Our lab focuses on developing efficient algorithms and techniques for data and knowledge management, information retrieval, and machine learning. My thesis work investigates knowledge graph construction and inference on COVID-19 genomic variants data using graph machine learning. My primary goal is to leverage graph sampling techniques to summarize massive-scale graphs to discover new facts from human genome variants. Aside from knowledge graphs and graph machine learning, I am also greatly interested in deep learning and natural language processing. I am an active member of Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL), Associate for Computing Machinery (ACM) and Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) - Gamma chapter at University of Missouri-Columbia. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, drawing mandalas, solving puzzles, and spending time with my two dogs.
